PREPARING YOUR RESUME
The resume is a helpful tool in your job search process. In most cases it doesn't replace an application, but could help you get job interviews. A well-written resume may generate enough interest to encourage an employer to want to meet you. It should have a format, content, and appearance that represents a positive individual. Your resume should reflect the following:

- Use strong action words when listing your skills and traits
- Have someone proofread your resume for punctuation, grammar and spelling errors
- Take resume and portfolio to every interview
DON'T
- Use long, wordy paragraphs to describe yourself
- Include references on your resume (you can take copies of references & letters of reference with you to interview)
- Lie or exaggerate
- Use pronouns, abbreviations, jargon, conjunctions
- Use a resume that is more than one page
