On the Job Training (OJT) Benefits

Money Back for Your Training Dollars

The On-the-Job Training Program will provide new employees who are:

  • Skilled
  • Motivated
  • Pretested
  • Prescreened
  • Trained your way to meet your needs

What is OJT?

OJT is a wage reimbursement program that defrays the cost of hiring and training a new employee. In recognition of these costs, 50% of the first 240 hours' wages are repaid to you.

Who participates?

Skilled job seekers who have been laid off, are making career changes, or are re-entering the labor market and have accessed East County Career Center services.

How does OJT affect the employer/employee relationship?

Your company policies and procedures are not affected.

Is there a lot of red tape?

No, the East County Career Center "takes the hassle out." We perform virtually all of the paperwork.

How do I participate?

Call East County Career Center at (619) 590-3900, or e-mail susanr@workforce.org and one of our business strategist will contact you.
